MAKE YOUR WINDOWS STAND OUT

Window art is a simple way to transform your shopfront, catch the attention of people passing by and bring a little personality to your space.

Designs can celebrate the seasons, promote an event or launch, or simply turn an empty window into something colourful and memorable.

DESIGNED FOR YOUR BUSINESS

No two windows are the same. I create artwork inspired by your business, products, location or brand and turn familiar details into playful illustrations that feel completely your own.

At Christmas, illustrations that represent your space or business can be woven into festive wreaths, trees, baubles and snowy scenes.

Have an idea already? Brilliant. Not sure what you want? I can help develop something for your space.

FAQs

1 How much notice should I give you?

I recommend getting in touch at least 2–3 weeks before you'd like your window painted to allow time for designing and arranging an installation date. During busy periods such as Christmas, the earlier the better. If you’ve left it last minute, still get in touch, there maybe something I can still do!

2 How long does it take to paint?

Most smaller window designs can be painted in a few hours, while larger or more detailed shopfronts may take a full day or longer. I'll give you an idea of installation time when I provide your quote.

3 Do you paint inside or outside?

Where possible, I paint on the inside of the glass, with the design created to be viewed from outside. This protects the artwork from the British weather and helps it last longer. Occasionally a design may be better painted externally, which we can discuss beforehand. I recommend painting outside if your business can be particularly humid such as bakeries as condensation can affect the longevity of the art.

4 How long will the window painting last?

Window artwork can last months, making it ideal for seasonal displays and temporary installations. How long it lasts will depend on its position, moisture/condensation and whether it's painted inside or outside. If you want something more permanent, I can paint with enamels which will last years.

5 Is the paint permanent?

I use water-based materials suitable for temporary window artwork, so the design can be removed when you're ready for a change. If you want something permanent I have specialist paints I can use however installation will be longer.

6 How do I remove the window painting?

Acrylic window artwork can be removed when you're ready for a change. The paint can be softened with warm soapy water or a little window cleaner, and carefully lifted from the glass using a suitable glass scraper or old plastic credit card. Any remaining residue can then be cleaned away.

7 How should I prepare my windows?

Before I arrive, please clean the window with warm water and a clean cloth and allow it to dry completely. Avoid using cleaning products immediately beforehand, as residue on the glass can affect how well the paint adheres.

I’ll also need clear access to the inside of the window while I’m painting.

8 Can I clean the windows once they're painted?

You can clean the unpainted areas of the glass, but avoid wiping or cleaning directly over the artwork. If your design is painted on the inside, the outside of the window can be cleaned as normal.

Please let me know before booking if your windows have any specialist coatings, films or tints.
